Comparative morphological analysis was performed to evaluate 35 Chrysanthemum cultivars and its relative species from some representative distributions basing on their genetic diversity. It is expected to provide the theory of resource protection and utilization, and information for further research on chrysanthemum origin and systematic classification of Chrysanthemum genus. With two cultivation measures ‘in open field’ and ‘potted in the greenhouse’, correlation and difference were investigated among ‘plant height’, ‘diameter of flower’, ‘diameter of tubulous discoid florets’, ‘number of ray florets’ and ‘number of tubular-florets’ of 35 different species or cultivars of the Chrysanthemum genus. The results indicated that there are very significant positive correlations between ‘plant height’ and ‘diameter of flower’, ‘diameter of flower’ and ‘number of ray florets’, ‘diameter of tubulous discoid florets’ and ‘number of tubular-florets’. Number of ray florets was significantly negatively correlated with ‘number of tubular-florets’. Therefore, we draw the following conclusions. Most of highly layered cultivars have bigger flower and more ray florets, and vice versa. Moreover, big flowers of Chrysanthemum have more petals and less tubular-florets. However, species or cultivars have differences among characters.
