Heart disease and diabetes
1968
Ricketts, Henry T.
A thorough explanation and discussion of heart disease is presented for the diabetic and nondiabetic. Arteriosclerosis, coronaries, myocardial infarction, and angina pectoris are described in detail. The roles of cholesterol, smoking, high blood pressure, tension, and predisposing hereditary factors to heart disease are also covered. The diabetic is often more vulnerable to coronaries and should minimize his chances of developing heart disease by avoiding saturated fats, not eating too many eggs, eliminating smoking, keeping his weight down, and by exercising regularly.
