A Comparison of Birdsfoot Trefoil-Bluegrass and Ladino Clover-Bluegrass for Pasture: II. Yield of Herbage and Relationships to Lamb Response
1958
Davis, R. R. | Bell, D. S.
SynopsisWhen measured by cages, European birdsfoot trefoil-bluegrass pastures yielded more dry matter than Ladino clover-bluegrass. Rotational grazing generally resulted in higher yield and the nitrogen content of the herbage was higher than with continuous grazing. The yield of dry matter was closely correlated with animal carrying capacity (r = 0.811). Herbage yield and animal gain per acre were not related.
