A field experiment was conducted during Rabi 2010–11, 2011–12 and 2012–13 at Research Cum Instructional Farm of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh to study the most effective herbicide for weed control and their effective level and time of application in Rajmash. Hand weeding twice at 20 and 40 days after sowing followed by pre emergence application of pendimethalin 30 EC + imazethapyr 2 EC at 1.0 kg/ha recorded lesser weed dry weight at 60 days and higher weed control efficiency. The said treatments also resulted in taller plants, higher number of branches and pods/plant, longer pod and higher seed and stover yield, net return and B:C ratio in comparison to the rest of the treatments.
