In 2020 tomatillo / husk tomato (Physallis ixocarpa) producers of Morelos and Guerrero reported Languria irregularis Casey 1916 (Coleoptera: Erotylidae) as a new pest in the region. Larvae, pupae, and adults of L. irregularis collected from plants are associated with yellowing and wilt. This is the first report of this pest in this economically important crop.
