Adipogenic activity in human plasma. Effects of feeding state and obesity
1986
Sypniewska, G. | Karlsson, M. | Bjorntorp, P.
A clinical and in vitro study of 8 women with varying degrees of obesity assessed the effects of acute feeding and obesity on adipogenic activity in human plasma. The results indicated that obesity evidencing increased levels of adipocytes is not associated with increased plasma stimulatory factors of new fat cell formation, since such factors are present in both obese and non-obese subjects. It was suggested that the observed elevated lipid filling capacity of obese subjects may modify localized inhibitory factors of adipocyte formation.(wz)
