Effect of planting date, Nitrogen fertilization and Salicylic acid spraying on some vegetative and fruitful growth treats of coriander plant (Coriandrum sativum L).

The research was carried out during the two agricultural seasons 2019-2020 in the village of Beit Sheikh Younes, Safita area, in Tartous governorate, to study the effect of two planting dates, the first date (T1) 5.February and the second date (T2) 5.March and four rates of Nitrogen fertilization (N1 = 0, N2=60, N3=100, N4=140) kg/ha and three concentrations of Salicylic acid (S1=0, S2=20, S3=40) mg/l and the interaction between them in some treats of early growth and maturity and some morphological, physiological, productive and chemical indicators of Coriander plant (Coriandrum sativum L). The experiment was designed in a Randomized Complete Block method R.C.B.D according to the Split Plot Design for two times, with three replications. The results showed that there were significant differences of statistical significancy between the treatments for most of the studied traits, in addition to a mutual effect between planting date, Nitrogen fertilization and Salicylic acid spraying. The first planting date (T1) was significantly superior to the second planting date (T2), during the two research seasons, in plant height (cm), number of main branches/plant, number of leaves/plant, leaf area (cm2) , leaf area index, leaf content of Chlorophyll: total and Carotene μg/g, wet and dry leaf weight (g), number of inflorescences/plant, number of fruits / inflorescence, percentage of flower drop (%), weight of fruits/plant, weight of 1000 fruits (g), hectare productivity of biological crop (kg), hectare productivity of fruits (kg),harvest index (%), percentage of Nitrogen and Phosphorous in leaves and fruits, and percentage of Protein and Aromatic oil in leaves and fruits and fixed oil percentage in fruits. The second planting date (T2) reduced the number of days needed for growth and full maturity, increased the percentage of carbohydrates in leaves and fruits, compared to the first date (T1), during the two research seasons. The Nitrogen fertilization rates of 100 and 140 kg/ha were superior to the rate of 60 kg/ha and the control, during the two planting seasons, in all studied morphological, physiological, productive and chemical treats except for the percentage of fixed oil in fruits which was the highest at fertilization rate of 60 kg/ha and carbohydrates ratio in leaves and fruits which was the highest at the control, and no significant differences were between the two rates of 100 and 140 kg/ha in most the studied treats during the two planting seasons. Spraying with Salicylic acid at a concentration of 40 mg/L resulted with reducing the number of days needed for flowering and full maturity, and resulted with a significant increase in all studied treats compared to the control and the concentration of 20 mg/L during the two planting seasons. The interaction between the first planting date (5.February), the Nitrogen fertilization rates of 100 kg/ha and spraying with Salicylic acid at a concentration of 40 mg/L (T1×N3×S3) resulted with a significant increase in the all studiedmorphological, physiological, productive treats and the percentage of Protein and aromatic oil in leaves and fruits compared with the most studied treatments during the two planting seasons, with no significant differences in some applied treatments. And the interaction between the first planting date (5.February), Nitrogen fertilization at a rate of 60 kg/ha and spraying with Salicylic acid at a concentration of 40 mg/L (T1×N2×S3) resulted with the highest percentage of fixed oil in the fruits in both seasons, compared with the most studied treatments, with no significant differences in some applied treatments.
