With the GEMAPI law (Integrated Management of Aquatic Environments and Flood Prevention), when looking for the best option in a project, practitioners need tools to evaluate each solution from the environmental aspect in addition to the yet mainstreamed cost-benefit and multi-criteria analyzes used for flood prevention. A recent work conducted on the Buëch River has successfully tested a method for estimating the geomorphological state of a watercourse section in its initial state and after the realization of works. The geomorphological interest of a project is thus evidenced by a simple and standard method based on solid scientific background, that is additionally accessible to any classic basin agency.

À l'heure de la GEMAPI (Gestion des milieux aquatiques et protection contre les inondations) les praticiens ont besoin, lors de l'étude de nouveaux aménagements de cours d'eau, d'outils pour évaluer le volet GEMA qui soient complémentaires aux analyses coûts-bénéfices et multicritères (ACB et AMC) développées pour évaluer le volet PI. L'état géomorphologique du cours d'eau et ses altérations sont une composante importante du volet GEMA qui reste difficile à caractériser. Un travail sur le bassin versant du Buëch (affluent de la Durance) a permis de tester avec succès une méthode récente de caractérisation des altérations et de l'état géomorphologique d'un tronçon de cours d'eau dans son état initial et dans ses potentiels états aménagés. L'intérêt d'un projet du point de vue géomorphologique, un potentiel futur critère à intégrer aux AMC, est ainsi mis en évidence par une méthode accessible, simple, standard et fondée sur de solides bases scientifiques. Elle répond également aux attentes des gestionnaires de bénéficier d'outils d'évaluation concrets et quantifiables.
