Caracterización agro-morfológica de accesiones de pallar (phaseolus lunatus L.) del banco nacional de germoplasma del INIA, Perú | Agro-morphological characterization of pallar accessions (Phaseolus lunatus) from the National Germplasm Bank of INIA, Peru

Phaseolus lunatus es una leguminosa de gran importancia en el Perú, que ha sido domesticada por las culturas Nazca, Paracas y Mochica. La gran variabilidad genética obtenida por estas civilizaciones aún no ha sido plenamente identificada. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo realizar la caracterización agro-morfológica de nueve accesiones, comparando 17 variables cualitativas y 12 cuantitativas a través de análisis descriptivos, ANOVA y prueba de Tukey de correlación, de componentes principales y de agrupamiento jerárquico. Los resultados indicaron variabilidad genética. Hubo correlación positiva y significativa entre la longitud del tallo principal y el número promedio de vainas por planta, pero negativa en relación al peso promedio de semilla. Se identificaron tres grupos de características similares en cuanto a la morfología y el rendimiento, resaltando los altos valores de ancho de vaina y semilla, número promedio de vainas por planta y peso promedio de semillas. Las accesiones promisorias fueron 1ac, 2ac, 5ac, 8ac y 9ac.

Phaseolus lunatus is a leguminous of a great cultural importance in Peru, that has been domesticated by Nazca, Paracas and Mochica cultures. The great genetic variability obtained by those civilizations has not been completely identified yet. The objective of this study was to characterize agro-morphologically nine accessions of this species comparing 17 qualitative and 12 quantitative parameters through descriptive analysis, ANOVA and Tukey’s test, correlation, principal components, and hierarchical clustering. The results indicated genetic variability. There was a positive and significant correlation between the main stem length and the average number of pods per plant, but a negative correlation with the average seed weight. Three groups of similar characteristics were identified based on their morphology and yield, where high values of pod and seed width, average number of pods per plant and average seed weight stood out.
