PRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE OF GROWING PIGS FEED WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF INCLUSION OF A PROTEIN CONCENTRATE (PROTILEN ω3) TO SUBSTITUTE SOYA MEAL IN GROWTH FEED | COMPORTAMIENTO PRODUCTIVO DE CERDOS EN CRECIMIENTO ALIMENTADOS CON DIFERENTES NIVELES DE INCLUSION DE UN CONCENTRADO PROTEICO (PROTILN ω3) EN SUSTITUCIN DE LA HARINA DE SOYA EN EL PIENSO DE CRECIMIENTO

The animals were distributed according to a completely randomized design in three experimental treatments, which were: I- control treatment (feeding the pigs with a conventional diet based on corn and soybean meals), a second (II) and third (III) treatment, where soybean meal was substituted in the diet for the spanish protein concentrate in 33% and 66% respectively. It was demonstrated that there were significant differences (P 0.001) in the productive performance traits of the animals between the treatments. The pigs that consumed the protein concentrate Protiln ω3 (treatment II and III) considerably improved their average daily gains (647 vs 666 vs 704 g/day respectively) and their feed conversions (3.07 vs 2.96 vs 2.75). The pigs of the treatment in which 33% of Protiln ω3 was included in the diet had a lower final weight than the animals of the control treatment (61.05 kg vs 60.85 kg), but they had a lower feed consumption and showed better average daily gains and food conversions. It is concluded that the results achieved are very satisfactory for the conditions of our country and similar to those obtained in different studies previously carried out at the national and international level.
