Thermal conductivity of a new multilayer building material based on ecological additives

The building material component and more specifically the thermal insulation envelope are displayed as a large energy-saving deposit in the building sector. This scientific research involves the thermal conductivity of a new multilayer building material based on ecological additives. This material consists of three layers; the intermediate layer is composed of clay combined with cork aggregates to reinforce the thermal insulation of the intermediate volume. The inner and the outer layers are made of a cement mortar to increase the protection of the internal and external facade of the wall. The cork aggregates simultaneously make it possible to reinforce the thermal insulation of the wall and to increase the adhesion between cement mortar layer and clay-granular cork layer. The thermal conductivity study was carried out using the asymmetrical hot plate method in permanent regime. Finally, a comparison of the energy gain and gain of lightness was done between this binder, clay alone and cement mortar. The results obtained are encouraging, demonstrating that the multilayer developed in this study increases the internal and external protection and thermal insulation of the walls and improves the energy efficiency of the building.
