Reutilización y aprovechamiento de aguas residuales domésticas tratadas en Colombia.

El presente trabajo determinó la importancia de la reutilización y aprovechamiento eficiente de aguas residuales domésticas en Colombia bajo los diferentes sistemas de tratamiento. Por medio de una amplia revisión bibliográfica y de análisis documental se establecieron los efectos ambientales que produce el tratamiento de aguas residuales domésticas en Colombia. A su vez se plantearon los beneficios de la reutilización de aguas residuales domésticas tratadas en Colombia y se conocieron los diferentes sistemas de tratamiento de aguas residuales domésticas utilizados a nivel nacional. En Colombia la implementación de sistemas de tratamiento de aguas residuales domésticas, ha permitido beneficios en la reutilización y aprovechamiento del recurso. Generando impactos medio ambientales fundamentales que favorecen a la descontaminación en las fuentes hídricas de todo el país, la disminución de la carga orgánica vertida en ríos, suelos; conservando la calidad del agua. Los beneficios de la reutilización de las aguas residuales domesticas tratadas han consistido en el empleo del recurso en actividades de uso agrícola. El riego de cultivos de sorgo, maíz, café, girasol y la siembra de la caña de azúcar y hortalizas alrededor del país, constituyen el principal uso del recurso domestico tratado. A su vez se han reconocido beneficios en actividades como la piscicultura, silvicultura, estabilizar áreas deforestadas o perturbadas por la minería. En actividades urbanas los beneficios encontrados contemplan el riego de espacios, lavado de casas, edificios, parques y automotores. The present work determines the importance of the reuse and efficient use of domestic wastewater in Colombia under the different treatment systems. Through an extensive literature review and documentary analysis, the environmental effects produced by the treatment of domestic wastewater in Colombia are established. At the same time, the benefits of the reuse of domestic wastewater treated in Colombia are discussed and the different systems of domestic wastewater treatment used at the national level are known. In Colombia, the implementation of domestic wastewater treatment systems has allowed benefits in the reuse and use of the resource. Generating fundamental environmental impacts that favor decontamination in water sources throughout the country, reducing the organic load released to rivers and soils and conserving water quality. The benefits of the reuse of domestic wastewater treated have consisted in the use of the resource in activities of agricultural use. The irrigation of crops of sorghum, corn, coffee, sunflower and the sowing of sugarcane and vegetables around the country, constitute the main use of the domestic resource treated. At the same time, benefits have been recognized in activities such as fish farming, silviculture, stabilizing deforested areas or disturbed by mining. In urban activities, the benefits found include the irrigation of spaces, washing of houses, buildings, parks and motor vehicles.
