Theoretical prerequisites for the creation and some practical results of studying the birch gene pool in the Voronezh region | Теоретические предпосылки создания и некоторые практические результаты изучения генофонда берёзы в Воронежской области

英语. The variability in tree height and survival in the early ontogenesis stages in seed progeny of introduced birch species obtained after cross- and self-pollination has been under study. Manchurian birch (Betula mandshurica (Regel) Nakai) – diploid, 2n=2x=28, poplar-leaved birch (Betula populifolia Marshall) – diploid, 2n=2x=28 and elm-leaved birch (Betula ulmifolia Cham.) - hexaploid, 2n=6x=84 were included in the research. The interest in these species is caused by the fact that they are diverse in ploidy. Since the survival rate of seedlings is one of the main characteristics in the creation of forest plantations, an analysis of survival of elm-leaved birch trees was carried out. This index reached 50% after self-pollination and 81.25% with open pollination. A brief history of the terminology of these species, the variability of their productivity signs are given on the example of growth at two, three, four, five and six years of age, as well as the preservation of some of them. The phenomenon of "reverse" inbreeding depression has been revealed for B. ulmifolia, a polyploid introduced species. The revealed variability in the leading type of growth of the reproduction system in these introduced birch species shows the prospects of breeding work with polyploid species B. ulmifolia.

俄语. Изучали изменчивость роста в высоту и приживаемость на ранних стадиях онтогенеза у потомства, выращенного из инбредных и гибридных семян интродуцированных видов берёз. В исследование включили деревья берёзы маньчжурской (Betula mandshurica (Regel) Nakai) – диплоид, 2n=2х=28, берёзы тополелистной (Betula populifolia Marshall) – диплоид, 2n=2х=28 и берёзы ильмолистной (Betula ulmifolia Cham.) – гексаплоид, 2n=6х=84. Интерес к этим видам вызван тем, что они различаются по плоидности. Поскольку приживаемость саженцев является одной из главных характеристик при создании лесных культур, был проведён анализ сохранности деревьев берёзы ильмолистной. Она составила 50% при самоопылении и 81,25% при свободном опылении. Даны краткая история терминологии этих видов, вариабельность их признаков продуктивности на примере роста в двух-, трёх-, четырех-, пяти- и шестилетнем возрасте, а также сохранности некоторых из них. Обнаружено явление "обратной" инбридинговой депрессии для полиплоидного интродуцированного вида берёзы – берёзы ильмолистной. Выявленная изменчивость по лидирующему типу роста системы размножения у изученных интродуцированных видов берёз показывает перспективность селекционной работы с берёзой ильмолистной.
