Bio-morphological features of musculoskeletal system of coxofemoral joint of the representatives belonging to the struthioniformes order (emu) are given in this article. It was found that the degree of differentiation of hip muscles of this representative is caused by walking-running type of bipedal locomotion. Also we revealed the points of fixation and determined the presence or absence of pinnation. In order to determine the degree of development of muscles and muscle groups, each muscle has been weighed. It was established that hip extension of emu requires considerably more effort than bending. Osteal elements, 161 which form the area of the pelvic girdle at all and the coxofemoral joint in particular, differ from representatives of other orders in comparative and functional aspects; it also characterizes the absence of aerial organs of locomotion.
