The investigations were carried out in the apple plantation of “Viorix-Agro” Ltd, which is located in the northern part of the country. The land, on wich an 8-yearold apple orchard was removed in the autumn of 2021, was replanted in the spring of 2022 with apple trees imported from the Netherlands to study the variety-rootstock combinations under the influence of the phenomenon “soil fatigue”. The experiment was carried out with two-year-old knip-boom apple trees with the crown formed by anticipated branches. The trees, planted at the distance of 3,5x0,8 m and trained to the vertical axis system, were grafted on the rootstocks M9, G11 and G41 for the variety Gala Nikangie and on the rootstock G11 for the variety Fuji King Grofn. The following parameters were evaluated in this study: crown height, crown width, geometrical structure of the plantation, trunk circumference length, leaf area, vegetative macrostructure, fruitful microstructure and productivity of the plantation. The results after the first year of vegetation showed that in order to obtain early apple yields and to maintain a rational relationship between vegetative macrostructure and fruitful microstructure, as well as to prevent the impact of soil fatigue in replanted land, it is recommended to use the vegetative rootstocks G11 and G41 in association with perspective varieties.
