Efeitos de diferentes lâminas de água sobre a produção e qualidade da banana ‘Prata anã’ cultivada no norte de Minas Gerais | Determination of the water needs and the effects of different water depths on the production components in banana plant cropping on northern Minas Gerais

Na região Norte de Minas Gerais o manejo da irrigação, quando realizado, é baseado em parâmetros de irrigação obtidos em condições edafoclimáticas distintas, repercutindo negativamente na rentabilidade, seja pela redução da produtividade final ou pelo aumento do consumo de água e energia elétrica. Neste trabalho estudou-se os efeitos de diferentes lâminas de irrigação sobre o desenvolvimento vegetativo, produção e qualidade do fruto da bananeira e determinaram-se parâmetros básicos do manejo da irrigação para a bananeira, no primeiro e segundo ciclo da planta, na região. O experimento foi conduzido no projeto Jaíba utilizando- se a cultivar ‘Prata anã’, com espaçamentos de 3,0 x 2,5 m, irrigadas por microaspersão com um emissor para cada quatro plantas. As lâminas de irrigação aplicadas aos tratamentos foram 40, 60, 80, 100 e 120% da evapotranspiração de referência (ETo), que foi estimada pela equação de Penman Monteith. Durante as fases fenológicas da cultura mediu-se o desenvolvimento foliar e determinou-se o índice de área foliar além dos graus-dia acumulados para cada fase fenológica e das porcentagens de sombreamento. Avaliaram–se o custo da água e energia na renda bruta total. Os resultados indicam que o tratamento correspondente a 120% da ETo proporcionou maiores produtividades nos dois ciclos analisados. As lâminas de irrigação não influenciaram na qualidade dos frutos, na pós-colheita, porém foram marcantes na qualidade dos frutos, na colheita, mostrando que a lâmina de 120% da ETo foi superior às demais. Os custos da água e da energia elétrica em relação à receita bruta nos tratamentos de 40, 60, 80, 100 e 120% da ETo foram, respectivamente, 71,4%, 26,6%, 14,4%, 10,5% e 7,14% no primeiro e segundo ciclos. Comparando-se o manejo racional de irrigação com o usualmente adotado pelos irrigantes, observou-se uma economia em torno de 4% de água e energia elétrica durante o primeiro e segundo ciclos da cultura. A quantidade de água aplicada nos tratamentos de 100% e 120% da ETo promoveu a antecipação da floração e conseqüentemente da colheita em relação aos outros tratamentos. Os coeficientes da cultura (Kc) encontrados foram superiores aos indicados pela FAO em todas as fases fenológicas, com exceção da terceira fase, onde apresentou-se semelhante, indicando assim, para o primeiro ciclo, os valores de 0,71; 1,00; e 0,87 respectivamente para as fases fenológicas correspondentes a II, III e IV, e de 0,97 para a fase única correspondente ao segundo ciclo. A primeira fase, em função das altas precipitações, não foi possível determinar com precisão o coeficiente da cultura (Kc). A percentagem de sombreamento para as plantas-mãe e filha atingiu 69 e 100% no tratamento de 120% da ETo. Do plantio à colheita, a bananeira necessitou de 365 dias para as plantas-mãe e de 150 dias da colheita das plantas-mãe até a colheita das plantas-filha, correspondendo a 3176 e 1562 graus-dia, respectivamente.

When the irrigation management is used on northern Minas Gerais, it is usually based on irrigation parameters that are obtained under different edaphoclimatic conditions, so negatively affecting the profitability, due either to the reduction in the final productivity and increase in water and electric energy consumption. This study evaluated the effects of different irrigation water depth irrigation on the vegetative development, yield and quality of the banana fruit, and the basic parameters of the irrigation management were determined for banana plant, at the first and second cycles of this plant in the region. The experiment was carried out in an area of the Jaíba project, on spacings of 3.0 x 2.5 m, with the cv. 'Prata anã' to which was applied the sprinkler irrigation, by using one emitter for each four plants. The irrigation water depths applied to the treatments were 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120% of the evapotranspiration reference (ETo), that was estimated by Penman Monteith equation. During the plant phenologic stages, the leaf development was measured and the leaf area index was determined, besides the degrees-day accumulated for each phenologic stage and the shading percentages. The water and energy costs were evaluated in the total gross income. The results show that the treatment corresponding to 120% ETo provided higher productivities for both analyzed cycles. The irrigation water depths did not affect the fruit quality at post- harvesting time, but they greatly affected the fruit quality at the harvesting time, so showing that the irrigation depth of 120% ETo was superior to the other ones. In relation to gross income, the costs of water and electric energy in the treatments with 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120% ETo were 71.4%, 26.6%, 14.4%, 10.5% and 7.14% respectively at the first and second cycles. In comparing the rational irrigation management with the one adopted by irrigators, an economy around 4% for water and electric energy was observed during the first and second cropping cycles. The amount of water applied on treatments of 100% and 120% ETo promoted the anticipation of flowering, therefore the harvest in relation to the other treatments. The crop coefficients (Kc) were shown to be superior to those indicated by FAO in all phenologic stages, except for the third stage when were similar, so indicating for the first cycle the values 0.71, 1.00, and 0.87 for the phenologic stages corresponding to II, III and IV respectively, and 0.97 for the only stage corresponding to the second cycle. Because the high precipitations, it was not possible to accurately determine the crop coefficient (Kc) at the first stage. The percent shading for mother and daughter plants attained 69 and 100% in the treatment with 120% ETo. From planting to harvesting time, the banana plant needed 365 days for mother plant crop and 150 days for daughter plant crop, corresponding to 3176 and 1562 degrees-day, respectively.
