Evaluación estructural del puente sobre el río Vite mediante el análisis teórico de capacidad de carga planteado por The Manual for Bridge Evaluation (AASHTO)

El trabajo investigativo presenta la metodología de evaluación para puentes existentes planteado por The Manual for Bridge Evaluation (MBE) de la AASHTO, impuesta por el Ministerio de Transporte de Obras Públicas (MTOP) y la Normativa Ecuatoriana Vial (NEVI-12); adaptándola a las condiciones específicas del Ecuador. El análisis estructural se enfocó en la metodología “Load and Resistance Factor Raiting” (LRFR) del MBE, aplicada al caso del Puente sobre el río Vite; mismo que en base a la inspección visual de sus elementos, se constató un deterioro aceptable de los mismos, calificando cualitativamente la condición del puente. Para la verificación, se aplicó combinaciones de carga bajo la acción de situaciones adversas con efectos estáticos y dinámicos, prestando principal atención a los efectos de carga sísmica, aplicando la Normativa Ecuatoriana de Construcción (NEC-15). El calculó de la resistencia real consideró parámetros estructurales de los elementos del puente. Posteriormente se desarrolló el modelado en el software CSI Bridge, para determinar los efectos de carga de diseño teniendo en cuenta las normativas vigentes. Los resultados se utilizaron para la determinación de “RF” (Índice de Capacidad), en las secciones donde se esperaba que actuaran las mayores solicitaciones; proporcionando niveles de confiabilidad, estabilidad y seguridad requeridas.

This research presents the evaluation methodology for existing bridges proposed by The Manual for Bridge Evaluation (MBE) of the AASHTO, imposed by the Ministry of Transport of Civil Works (MTOP) and the Ecuadorian Road Regulations (NEVI-12); adapting it to the specific conditions of Ecuador. The structural analysis focused on the "Load and Resistance Factor Rationing" (LRFR), MBE methodology, applied to the case of the Bridge over the Vite River, which, based on the visual inspection of its elements, an acceptable deterioration of them was found, qualitatively qualifying the condition of the bridge For verification, load combinations under the action of adverse situations with static and dynamic effects were applied, paying special attention to the effects of seismic loading, applying the Ecuadorian Construction Regulations (NEC-15). The calculation of the actual resistance considered structural parameters of the elements of the bridge. Subsequently, an analytical model was developed in the CSI Bridge software to determine the design load effects taking into account the current regulations. The results were used for the determination of "RF" (Raiting Factor) in the sections where highest loads were expected to act; providing levels of reliability, stability and security required.
