First report on the presence of two protophylls per node in tacaco (Sechium tacaco) seedlings in Costa Rica

Observations were made on the protophylls of five tacaco (Sechium tacaco) seedlings, in Ochomogo de Cartago, Costa Rica, in order to study the morphology of the leaves; in two of the seedlings, two protophylls were found in the same node. In the present investigation, we report for the first time the existence of two protophylls per node in tacaco seedlings, which represents a scientific finding in this species.
