Nanocomposite of silver nanoparticles/diatomite against pathogenous bacteria for catfish

Study on electron beam (EB) irradiation of AgNO3/chitosan/Diatomite (DA) suspension mixture was carried out. Influence of AgNO3 precursor’s concentration on the size and the content of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) deposited in DA was investigated. The TEM images demonstrated the AgNPs in nanocomposite of AgNPs/DA were spherical with an average diameter ≤10 nm at Ag+ concentrations from 2.5−10 mM. The antibacterial efficacy of AgNPs/DA against infectious pathogens for Tra catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) such as Aeromonas hydrophila and Edwardsiella ictaluri was evaluated.
