We present the first documented record of Neocrex erythrops (Sclater, 1816) from Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil.&nbsp;An adult male was found dead near the campus buildings at the Universidade de Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul,&nbsp;Brazil. The individual was collected and is vouchered in the zoological collection of the Museu de Ci&ecirc;ncias Naturais&nbsp;da Universidade de Caixas do Sul. This new record is the first documented occurrence of this species in Rio Grande&nbsp;do Sul.
