ASPECTS REGARDING THE ORIGIN AND EVOLUTION OF THE KUIALNIC ESTUARY

<p>Due to its location within the sea-shore area of the Black Sea, the Kuialnic Estuary has a genesis almost similar to all the seaside estuaries. Thus, it has undergone through the following phases: of a river, deep valley, bay, lagoon and of an estuary. All of the above-mentioned phases occurred within the post-glacial period and were influenced by the regressive-transgressive character of the Black Sea. The Kuialnic Estuary has definitively separated from the Black Sea by the end of 17<sup>th</sup> century, through the creation of a coastline.<strong></strong></p>
