Formas e balanço de potássio em Latossolo sob sistema integrado de produção agropecuária em plantio direto no sul do Brasil | Potassion forms and balance in an oxisol under an integrated crop-livestock system in no-tillage in southern Brazil

Os sistemas integrados de produção agropecuária (SIPA) afetam a dinâmica de nutrientes no solo, entre eles o potássio (K). A pesquisa em áreas de SIPA não é recente, no entanto, estudos avaliando o efeito da presença do animal em diferentes intensidades de pastejo na dinâmica e no balanço das formas de K a longo prazo nesses sistemas são escassos. O trabalho objetivou avaliar as formas de K no solo ao longo de 17 anos e o balanço deste nutriente em um SIPA em plantio direto, com diferentes intensidades de pastejo (aveia preta + azevém) de bovinos no período hibernal e produção de soja na safra de verão. O experimento foi iniciado em maio de 2001, em área pertencente à Fazenda do Espinilho, no município de São Miguel das Missões, RS, em Latossolo Vermelho Distroférrico típico. Os tratamentos constam de intensidades de pastejo, sendo pastejo intensivo (PI) e pastejo moderado (PM), com 10 e 20 cm de altura de pasto, respectivamente, e um tratamento sem pastejo (SP). O delineamento experimental é o de blocos ao acaso, com três repetições. Foram coletadas amostras de solo em 2001, 2007, 2012 e 2017, nas camadas de 0-5, 5-10, 10-15 e 15-20 cm de solo. Para dessorção de K utilizou-se o extrator Mehlich-1 e os teores do nutriente foram determinados em espectrofotômetro de emissão de chama. O K total foi determinado por fluorescência de raio-X e o K não disponível foi determinado por diferença entre os teores de K total e de K potencialmente disponível, obtido pela dessorção de K. A ausência de pastejo bovino gerou aumento nos teores de K prontamente e potencialmente disponível, bem como de K não disponível e total no solo. As diferentes intensidades de pastejo avaliadas não modificaram os teores de K em todas as formas avaliadas ao longo dos 17 anos de condução do experimento. Independentemente da intensidade de pastejo, somente o K na forma prontamente disponível resultou em balanço de K positivo no solo, enquanto as demais formas do nutriente tiveram balanço negativo. A ausência de pastejo resultou em balanço de K positivo para todas as formas do nutriente e também para o seu teor total no solo.

Integrated crop livestock systems (ICLS) affect nutrient dynamics in the soil, among them, K. The research in ICLS areas is not recent, however, studies evaluating the effect of animal presence in different grazing intensities on the dynamics and the balance of the long-term K forms in these systems are scarce. The objective of this work was to evaluate the K forms in the soil over 17 years and the balance of this nutrient in an ICLS in no-tillage, with different grazing intensities (black oat + ryegrass) by cattle in the winter and soybean production in the summer harvest. The experiment was started in May 2001, in an area belonging to Espinilho’s Farm in the municipality of São Miguel das Missões, RS, Brazil, in a Rhodic Hapludox (Oxisol). The treatments consisted of two grazing intensities, with intensive grazing (IG) and moderate grazing (MG) with 10 and 20 cm of pasture height, respectively, and a treatment without grazing (WG). The experimental design is a randomized block design with three replicates. Soil samples were collected in 2001, 2007, 2012 and 2017, in the layers of 0-5, 5-10, 10-15 and 15-20 cm of soil. Desorption of K was carried out using the Mehlich-1 extractor, and the nutrient contents were determined in a flame emission spectrophotometer. The total K was determined by X-ray fluorescence and the not available K was determined by the difference between the contents of total K and of potentially available K obtained by the desorption of K. The absence of cattle grazing generated an increase in the contents of readily and potentially available K forms, as well as of not available and total K forms in the soil. The grazing intensities tested in this study did not modify the K contents in all the evaluated forms during the 17 years of conduction of the experiment. Regardless of the grazing intensity, only the K in the readily available form resulted in a positive K balance in the soil, while the other K forms had a negative balance. The absence of grazing resulted in positive K balance for all forms of this nutrient and also for its total soil content.
