Valor nutricional de diferentes subprodutos do trigo para suínos em crescimento | Nutritional value of different by-products of wheat for growing pigs

A avaliação de fontes alternativas de alimentação para monogástricos tornou-se uma tendência atual na formulação de rações. Neste contexto, o farelo de trigo vem sendo utilizado na alimentação animal com o objetivo de agregar valor a este subproduto, que representa uma alternativa alimentar a ingredientes de maior custo, como o milho e o farelo de soja. Seu fornecimento em rações é indicado para minimizar o estresse advindo da restrição alimentar a que são submetidos os animais em fase de terminação para o abate e a reprodução. Porém, é conhecido que o farelo de trigo é formado por diferentes subprodutos do beneficiamento do trigo nas indústrias, o que torna possível a realização de estudos avaliando separadamente cada fração. A farinheta e o farelo fino por possuírem maior teor de amido e reduzido teor de fibra, podem ser direcionados às rações de monogástricos, enquanto o farelo grosso é mais usado em dietas de ruminantes. Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar o valor nutricional das diferentes frações que formam o farelo de trigo, em dietas para suínos em crescimento. A dieta referência foi substituída em 30% por cada ingrediente teste (farinheta, farelo fino, farelo grosso, farelo trigo, e farelo grosso moído). Um tratamento com o farelo grosso moído foi formado para avaliar se ocorre uma maior disponibilidade dos nutrientes com a diminuição da granulometria. Dentre estas cinco combinações avaliadas, a farinheta foi o ingrediente com maior energia digestível (3461 kcal/kg), metabolizável (3329 kcal/kg) e proteína digestível (14,23 %), demonstrando seu potencial em utilização nas dietas para não ruminantes. O farelo fino foi superior ao farelo grosso moído nos valores de energia digestível e metabolizável. O farelo grosso moído teve os menores coeficientes de digestibilidade. Isto indica que a diminuição da granulometria neste caso não torna os nutrientes mais disponíveis. A energia metabolizável medida dos subprodutos de trigo pode ser estimada a partir de sua composição proximal, especialmente pelos teores de fibra.

The evaluation of alternative sources of supply for monogastric animals has been a tendency in the formulation of rations. In this context, wheat bran has been used in animal feed in order to add value to this byproduct, which represents an alternative to more expensive feed ingredients, such as corn and soybean meal. Its use in diets is indicated to minimize the stress that result from food restriction to which the animals are subjected in the process of finishing for slaughter and for breeding. However, it is known that the bran is formed by various by-products of processing wheat in the industries which make possible the realization of studies evaluating each fraction separately. The wheat middlings and fine wheat bran, because of the greater starch content and low in fiber, can be directed to monogastric rations, while the coarse wheat bran has its use in ruminant diets. The objective of this study was to evaluate the nutritional value of different fractions that make up the wheat bran in diets for growing pigs. The reference diet was replaced by 30% for each ingredient test (wheat middlings, fine wheat bran, coarse wheat bran, wheat bran, ground coarse wheat bran 1mm). A treatment with coarse wheat bran ground was formed to assess whether there is a greater availability of nutrients with decreasing particle size. Among these five combinations evaluated, the wheat middlings showed more digestible energy (3461 kcal/kg), metabolizable energy (3329 kcal/kg) and digestible protein (14,23%), demonstrating its potential use in non-ruminant diets. The fine wheat bran had more digestible and metabolizable energy compared to ground coarse wheat brand. The ground coarse wheat bran had the lowest digestibility. This indicates that the reduction in particle size in this case does not improve nutrients availability. Metabolizable energy could be estimated from the proximal analisys in wheat by-products, specialy the fiber content.
