Kukurūzas (Zea mays L.) sakņu anatomiski morfoloģiskās izmaiņas un lapu hlorofila daudzuma dinamika cinka piesārņojuma ietekmē | Root anatomical and morphological changes and dinamics of chorophyll content in leaves of maize (Zea mays L.) as a response to zinc contamination

Fitoremediācija ir jauna metode augsnes un gruntsūdens attīrīšanai, kuras laikā augi, piemēram, kukurūza, papildus minerālvielām un ūdenim uzņem arī smagos metālus. Citur pasaulē šo metodi plaši izmanto, bet Latvijā tā vēl nav populāra. Pētījumu veica Latvijas Universitātes Bioloģijas fakultātes Augu Fizioloģijas katedrā laika posmā no 2014. gada oktobra līdz 2015. gada maijam. Darba mērķis bija izpētīt kukurūzas saknes anatomiskos un morfoloģiskos pielāgojumus dažādās cinka koncentrācijās un to saistību ar uzņemtā cinka daudzumu vasā. Izpētot sakņu anatomiskās un morfoloģiskās atšķirības dažādos variantos, konstatēja endodermas uzbiezinājumu – Kaspari svītru – un periendodermas pastiprinātu veidošanos, kā arī hlorofila daudzuma samazināšanos kukurūzas lapās, pieaugot cinka koncentrācijai.

Phytoremediation is a new method for cleaning contamination in soil and groundwater, where plants such as maize, take up not only minerals and water, they also take up heavy metals. While this method is used worldwide to clean contaminated sites in Latvia it’s still new. The study was carried out during the period of October 2014 to May 2015 at the Department of Plant Physiology, Faculty of Biology, University of Latvia. The aim was to investigate and compare maize root anatomical and morphological adaptations depending on different zinc concentrations in soil and their connection to zinc uptake and content in shoots and leaves and how it’s affect chlorophyll dynamics. While examining the anatomical and morphological differences in plants, it was possible an increased formation of specific structures – Caspari strip – and peri-endodermis to establish. There were also decreased amount of chlorophyll in maize leaves in variants with higher concentration of zinc.
