Rice seedling susceptibility to bakanae disease and evaluation of infection risks associated with seed processing after hot water treatment

This study evaluated the susceptibility to bakanae disease of rice seeds after hot water treatment. When sterilized seeds were soaked in spore suspension of bakanae disease fungus, the disease occurred much more frequently the seeds of the hot water treatment than the seeds of chemical fungicide treatment. There were also more death seedlings when compared to non-sterilized seed. As a result of having evaluated the infection risk of the bakanae disease fungi in the seedling process for meta-analysis, the hastening of germination and the emergence was high risk. These result is suggest that the rice seed after hot water treatment are more susceptible to bakanae disease fungus and the disease becomes severer than chemical fungicide treatment or non-sterilized seed.
