Togo which is one of the smallest African states is bounded on the West by Ghana on the east by Dahomey on the north by the Atlantic ocean it has an area of 56600 Km with a population of 1700000 Togo is largely a country of savannah lands which apart from the income provided by phosphates derives its main commercial resources from the cultivation of oil palm cocoa coffee and cotton.
