Research conducted in 2021–2023 on cohesive sandy loam soil in the central part of Belarus established that the field germination of seeds of maize lines is associated with their cold resistance and is inherited in hybrids: the correlation coefficient between the field germination of seeds of lines and hybrids, where the same lines acted as the maternal form, is 0.77. The lines exert a rather strong influence on the growth of hybrid plants and grain productivity, which indicates the importance of these indicators in creating the source material. The ability of lines to form a second productive cob is not always inherited in hybrids. Only one line out of three (LZh 48) had this quality in 83% of cases.
