Agribusiness capital and transformations of livestock bovine breeding in the Pampas, Argentina | Capital agroindustrial y transformaciones de la ganadería bovina pampeana, Argentina

英语. The purpose of this article is to analyse the changes experienced by the livestock bovine breeding exploitation in the Pampas region, during the last three decades. The origin of the corresponding location together with the links to the meat processing plants and meat export, are considered. Starting from collection and organization of different sources of secondary information, the evolution of livestock breeding and meat processing industries are described, as well as the concentration and unification of present production and processing of beef bovines in Argentina. The results would suggest that, in addition to moving towards intensive production systems, breeders inserted in the foreign market have transformed the agrarian structure and the Pampas territory. Such alteration led to the displacement of the smallest producers and, consequently, to productive concentration. Although the territorial conformation of beef production dates back to the beginning of livestock activity in the region, the expansion of current agribusiness capital is evident just as presented in this article.

Este artículo se propone estudiar las transformaciones de las explotaciones agropecuarias –EAP– ganaderas bovinas de la región pampeana en las últimas tres décadas, teniendo en cuenta la génesis de su localización, los vínculos con la industria frigorífica y las exportaciones de carne. A partir de la recopilación y sistematización de diversas fuentes de información secundaria se describió la evolución de los sistemas productivos ganaderos y la industria frigorífica, y se analizó la concentración y centralización actual de la producción y procesamiento de carne vacuna en la Argentina. Los resultados sugerirían que los productores insertos en el mercado externo avanzan hacia sistemas de producción intensivos en capital/ha transformando la estructura agraria, con lo que se contribuye a la concentración productiva. Si bien la localización de la producción y procesamiento de carne bovina se remonta a los inicios de la actividad ganadera, la expansión del capital agroindustrial se ha puesto de manifiesto en las transformaciones de las EAP ganaderas pampeanas de las últimas décadas.
