Más allá de lo meramente estético y comercial, la cinematografía zombi ha logrado abrirse un espacio en el mundo del Séptimo Arte para proponer una manera de entender a estos monstruos que producen terror, asco, pero también reflexión. Estos hijos de la muerte se han convertido en uno de los personajes terroríficos más explotados en el cine y la televisión y curiosamente permiten reflexionar filosóficamente acerca de su posible origen en el desarrollo científico: un error de laboratorio, una intención malvada de destruir la humanidad, un intento por experimentar para convertir a los seres humanos en algo "mejor", entre tantas posibilidades. Si hay algo que nos permite la filosofía es la posibilidad de reflexionar sobre temas que parecieran estar "traídos de los pelos", pero toda acción humana, incluido lo que ocurre en un estudio de cine, o un gran laboratorio, siempre va a ser motivo de reflexión, asombro, incluso terror.

Beyond the merely aesthetic and commercial, zombie cinema has managed to have a place in the world of the Seventh Art to propose a way of understanding these monsters that produce terror, disgust, but also reflection. These sons of the death have become one of the most exploited terrifying characters in film and television, and curiously, they allow for philosophical reflection on their possible origin in scientific development: a laboratory error, an evil intention to destroy humanity, an attempt to experiment to transform human beings into something "better," among so many possibilities. If there's one thing philosophy allows us, it's the possibility of think about topics that seem "far-fetched," but all human action, including what happens in a film studio or a large laboratory, will always be a cause for reflection, wonder, even terror.
