Riesgo de trastornos del comportamiento alimentario en población infantojuvenil con obesidad

Introducción Los Trastornos de la Conducta Alimentaria (TCA) y la obesidad son enfermedades multifactoriales que representan actualmente los mayores problemas de salud pública. El presente estudio busca evaluar el impacto de la obesidad sobre la prevalencia de TCA en población infantojuvenil. Objetivos Determinar si la obesidad en población infantojuvenil es un factor de riesgo en la aparición de TCA. Material y métodos Se realizó un estudio transversal con pacientes pediátricos (106 sujetos) y pacientes sanos (35 sujetos). Se recogieron las características sociodemográficas y antropométricas, así como los resultados de los cuestionarios validados (ChEAT, S-YFAS-C y CDRS). Se usó el paquete IBM SPSS 29 para el análisis estadístico. Resultados La muestra se dividió en un grupo con normopeso (17 niños y 18 niñas) y un grupo con obesidad (75 niños y 31 niñas). La media (DE) de edad y Z_IMC fue de 10,73 (0,81) y -0,29 (0,68); 11,98 (1,87) y 3,01 (1,53), respectivamente. Para el grupo con normopeso, la puntuación media (DE) y el recuento de diagnósticos positivos (%) fueron ChEAT-26: 12,57 (10,23) y 7 (5%); S-YFAS-C: 1,6 (1,54) y 1 (0,7%); CDRS: 0,74 (1,01) y 3 (2,1%). Para el grupo con obesidad fueron ChEAT-26: 16,15 (9,55) y 35 (24,8%); S-YFAS-C: 2,19 (1,67) y 17 (12,2%); CDRS: 2,62 (1,22) y 87 (62,1%). Conclusiones La obesidad aumenta el riesgo de TCA, Adicción a la Comida (AC) y alteración de la imagen corporal en población infantojuvenil. Sin embargo, se requieren más estudios para confirmar esta relación, especialmente para TCA y AC, debido a la falta de significancia estadística (p > 0,05).

For the group with normal weight, the mean score (SD) and the positive diagnostic count (%) were ChEAT-26: 12,57 (10,23) and 7 (5%); S-YFAS-C: 1,6 (1,54) and 1 (0,7%); CDRS: 0,74 (1,01) and 3 (2,1%). For the group with obesity were ChEAT-26: 16,15 (9,55) and 35 (24,8%); S-YFAS-C: 2,19 (1,67) and 17 (12,2%); CDRS: 2,62 (1,22) and 87 (62,1%). Conclusions Obesity increases the risk of ED, Food Addiction (FA) and body image disturbance in children and adolescents. However, more studies are needed to confirm this relationship, especially for ED and FA, due to the lack of statistical significance (p > 0,05).
