2024

A field experiment was carried out at Abi-Jarash farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Damascus University, during the growing season 2019 / 2020, in order to study the effect of spraying of plants with micronutrients on the growth and productivity of some barley genotypes (Arabi Abiad, Arabi Aswad, Furat-7, Furat-9) grown under rainfed conditions. Four treatments of micronutrients were studied (T1: control, T2: spraying of micronutrients during tillering, T3: spraying of micronutrients during tillering and stem elongation T4: spraying of micronutrients during tillering, stem elongation and flowering stages). The experiment laid out according to split-split plot design with three replications. Statistical analysis results indicated significant differences among micronutrients treatments, the treatment (T4) recorded significantly the highest values of the traits: plant height, plant leaf area, number of spikes per plant, number of grains per plant, 1000 seed weight, grain yield (76.97 cm, 1114.75 cm2, 7.70 spikes.plant-1, 252.64 grains.plant-1, 41.82 g, 3405.25 kg.ha-1 respectively). There was genetic variation in the response of barley varieties to micronutrients treatments, where the variety Furat-7 registered the highest value of the studied traits (67.14 cm, 1009.50 cm2, 6.92 spikes.plant-1, 217.90 grains.plant-1, 39.46 g, 3009.75 kg.ha-1 respectively).
