Amélioration des propriétés chimiques d'un sol ferrugineux tropical lessivé par le phosphate naturel calciné

Description du sujet. La calcination offre une opportunité de solubiliser le Burkina phosphate naturel afin d’accroitre son efficacité agronomique sur les sols pauvres en phosphore.Objectif. La présente étude menée à la station expérimentale de Kamboinsé de l'Institut de l'Environnement et de Recherches Agricoles (Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso), a pour objectif d'examiner la contribution du phosphate naturel calciné à l’amélioration de quelques propriétés chimiques des sols ferrugineux tropicaux lessivés sous culture de sorgho (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) et de niébé (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp).Méthodes. Les traitements suivants ont été comparés à l’aide de blocs de Fisher complètement randomisés pour le sorgho et le niébé séparément de 2021 à 2022 : Témoin, Matière Organique (MO), Burkina phosphate naturel (BP, 23 kg ha-1 P), Phosphate naturel calciné (PNC, 23 kg ha-1 P), Triple superphosphate (TSP, 23 kg ha-1 P), engrais complexe (NPK 14-23-14), PNC 50 + TSP 50, PNC 75 + TSP 25, et PNC 25 + TSP 75.La quantité d’azote (N) fournie était de 37 kg ha-1 pour le sorgho et 14 kg ha-1 pour le niébé, celle de phosphore (P) et de potassium (K) étaient respectivement de 23 kg ha-1 et 14 kg ha-1 pour tous les traitements, sauf le Témoin et la MO. Ces quantités ont été appliquées sur des micro parcelles de 20 m2.Résultats. Les résultats obtenus ont indiqué que c'est la combinaison du PNC avec le TSP qui a eu un impact significatif sur la disponibilité de phosphore assimilable et les bases échangeables dans le sol. Les niveaux de phosphore stockés étaient plus élevés avec les combinaisons PNC 50 + TSP 50 (100,2 ± 13,3 %) pour le niébé et PNC 75 + TSP 25 (17,34 ± 6,49 %) pour le sorgho. L'application de PNC seul a également entraîné une augmentation significative des bases échangeables, de la capacité d'échange cationique (CEC) et de la saturation du sol. Ces traitements ont conduit à une augmentation annuelle des bases échangeables et de la capacité de stockage du sol en ions.Conclusion. Pour gérer efficacement la fertilité des sols ferrugineux tropicaux lessivés, il est nécessaire d’intégrer judicieusement l'utilisation du phosphate naturel calciné dans les pratiques de fertilisation. Description of the subject. Calcination is an opportunity to improve Burkina phosphate rock solubility and its agronomic efficiency.Objective. The present study, conducted at the Kamboinsé station of the Institute of Environmental and Agricultural Research (Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso), aimed to examine the contribution of calcined phosphate rock to the improvement of certain chemical properties of leached tropical ferruginous soils under sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) and cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) cultivation.Methods. The following treatments were compared in randomized bloc design for sorghum and cowpea separately from 2021 to 2022: Control, Organic Matter (OM), Burkina phosphate rock (BP, 23 kg ha-1 P), Calcined Phosphate Rock (PNC, 23 kg ha-1 P), TSP (23 kg ha-1 P), NPK (14-23-14), PNC 50 + TSP 50, PNC 75 + TSP 25, and PNC 25 + TSP 75. Similar amounts of N, P, and K were applied in all treatments, except for the Control and OM. The amount of nitrogen was 37 kg ha-1 for sorghum and 14 kg ha-1 for cowpea, those of phosphorus and potassium were 23 kg ha-1 and 14 kg ha-1 respectively for all crops and treatments except the control and OM. These amounts were applied in plot of 20 m2 area.Results. The results indicated that the combination of PNC with TSP had a significant impact on the availability of a phosphorus and exchangeable bases of the soil. Phosphorus storage levels were higher with the PNC 50 + TSP 50 combination (100.2 ± 13.3 %) for cowpea and PNC 75 + TSP 25 (17.34 ± 6.49 %) for sorghum. The application of PNC alone also resulted in a significant increase in exchangeable bases, cation exchange capacity (CEC), and soil saturation. The treatments led to an annual increase in exchangeable bases and ion storage capacity in the soil.Conclusion. It is possible to effectively manage the fertility of leached tropical ferruginous soils by incorporating the use of calcined phosphate rock into fertilization practices.
