The possibility of using Cuban bio-stimulants,as substitutes for conventional growth regulators in the fullpropagation of bananas and plantains, would open a newprospect for those biofactories at present devoted to Musagenus multiplication in Cuba, and would also increase the exportablepotentials of Cuban biotechnological products. Theeffects of Cuban bio-stimulants, BB-6 and Biostan, as potentialsubstitutes for growth regulators at the in vitro establishment,multiplication and rooting stages, and their long-termaction on the acclimatization of macho plantain (Musa sp. AAB)clone Sobrino were studied. At the establishment stage,substituting indoleacetic acid for BB-6 or Biostan increasedexplant survival, leaf number and explant length, withoutaffecting the number of days required to perform the firstsubculture. At the multiplication stage, substitution did notaffect multiplication index, leaf number and explant length. Theaddition of only bio-stimulants to the culture medium led tolower values of the variables than the control in both phases.At the rooting phase, substituting AIA for Biostan or BB-6increased root number, average length, leaf number andvitroplant length. The effect was kept for a long time in theacclimatization phase, in which plants obtained with Biostanor BB-6 showed higher values than those attained with AIA,in all variables measured.

La posibilidad de emplear bioestimulantes cubanos,como sustitutos de los reguladores del crecimiento convencionales,en la propagación masiva de los plátanos ybananos abriría una nueva perspectiva, para las biofábricasque actualmente se dedican a la multiplicación del género Musaen Cuba, e incrementaría las potencialidades exportables delos productos biotecnológicos cubanos. Se estudió el efectode los bioestimulantes cubanos, BB-6 y Biostan, como sustitutospotenciales de los reguladores del crecimiento en lasfases de establecimiento, multiplicación y enraizamiento invitro, y su acción a largo plazo sobre la aclimatización delplátano macho (Musa sp. AAB) clón Sobrino. En el establecimiento,la sustitución del ácido indolacético por BB-6 o Biostanincrementó la supervivencia de los explantes, la cantidad dehojas y longitud de los explantes, sin afectar la cantidad dedías requeridos para realizar el primer subcultivo. En la multiplicación,la sustitución no afectó el índice de multiplicación,la cantidad de hojas y longitud de los explantes. La adición delos bioestimulantes por sí solos al medio de cultivo condujo avalores menores que el control en las variables en ambas fases.En la fase de enraizamiento, la sustitución del AIA porBiostan o BB-6 provocó incrementos en la cantidad de raíces ysu longitud promedio, la cantidad de hojas y altura de lasvitroplantas. El efecto se mantuvo a largo plazo en la fase deaclimatación, en la que las plantas obtenidas con Biostan oBB-6 mostraron valores superiores a las que se obtuvieroncon AIA, en todas las variables medidas.
