Orchard systems as a combination of various factors play a significant role in the production of apple cultivars. It is crucial to evaluate different conditions for new, disease-resistant cultivars, including their production stability. A trial was initiated to test six apple genotypes in different orchard systems, comparing two-axis and slender spindle canopies on the rootstock B.396 with UFO (Upright Fruiting Offshoot) and flat-pyramidal canopies on the rootstock MM 106, arranged according to appropriate tree densities. The cultivar ‘Lora’ and the hybrid DI-93-4-22 (Vf/Rvi6) demonstrated higher productivity in the trial. Additionally, the hybrid DI-3-90-45 (Vf/Rvi6) exhibited significantly more stable production than initially described by the breeder based on an earlier trial. This finding further emphasizes the importance of testing new cultivars across various production and orchard systems to assess their effectiveness.
