Exhausting description is provided to new varieties of pea used chiefly as a vegetable, which have been listed in the State Register of Varieties Suitable for Dissemination in Ukraine in 20010-2011 for the harvest in 2012, and for which official description is available.

Breeding of columnar type apple varieties has been carried out at VNIISPK since 1984. The possibility of grow-ing of columnar type apple varieties in the crown of winter hardy semi-dwarf rootstock 3-4-98 by S. N. Stepanov’s breeding is being studied in different density of planting in the orchard (3 x 1,0 m; 3 x 1,5; and 3 x 2,0 m). The inves tigation of winter hardiness, cropping power, fruit mar ketability and biochemical composition allowed releasing two varieties «Poesia» and «Priokskoye» for state trials.

The article shows experimental data of interline hybrids of sugar beet on the basis of weight of 1000 seeds, genetic determination of characteristic based on the method of Hayman and topcrossed polytested crossbreeding is established, their comparison is made. It also highlights valuable hybrid combinations and valuable for combining pollinating lines used in the breeding to enhance properties of sowing seeds.

The article provides results of efficiency of double screening by quantity of normally developed germs affected of unfavorable abiotic factors, namely decreased temperatures of seeds sprouting and embryogenesis at extremes (heat, shortage of water). | В статье приведены результаты эффективности двухразовых отборов по количеству нормально развитых зародышей при действии неблагоприятных абиотических факторов – пониженных температур во время прорастания семян и экстремальных условий (жара и недостаток влаги) во время прохождения эмбриогенеза. Создан селекционный материал со стрессоустойчивостью репродуктивной сферы к неблагоприятным факторам среды. | У статті наведено результати ефективності дворазових доборів за кількістю нормально розвинених зародків за дії несприятливих абіотичних факторів – понижених температур під час проростання насіння і екстремальних умов (спека та нестача вологи) під час перебігу ембріогенезу. Створено селекційний матеріал зі стресостійкістю репродуктивної сфери до несприятливих факторів довкілля.
