Comparative investigations of the macrophytic vegetation and ichthyofauna from the Lake Ohrid [The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia]
2003
Talevska, M. | Talevski, T. (Hidrobioloski zavod, Ohrid (The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia))
In this paper is given the comparative review of investigation of the macrophytic vegetation and ichthyofauna in 4 localities (Grasnica, Gradiste, Veli Dab, and Cerava) from the littoral region of the Lake Ohrid. In the investigated localities are evidenced macrophytic species and fish species as bioindicators for saprobility. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that qualitative composition of macrophitic vegetation and ichthyofauna are different and depend from locatities where investigated made.

2003
Mohora, E. (Skupstina opstine Pancevo, Pancevo (Serbia and Montenegro). Sluzba za zastitu zivotne sredine)
The paper presents theoretical model of the pollutant density changes in water environment. Spreading of the pollutant is modeled by strong pointed force on the pollution system in the water. This force appears as a strong short term pressure in certain point of the system after which it starts to move in one direction. Results of applying of this model shows that density of the pollution depends on mass of the pollution and the speed of the spreading of the pollutant in the aquatic system. One dimensional result of the pollutant density that is received, i.e. pointed direction of the pollutant stands only in the cases of precisely fixed conditions defined by modeling. For any other values that exceed these values the pollutant density value is equivalent zero value.

2003
Nedic, L. (Strucna skola "Sveti Sava", Bujanovac (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Stanisavljevic, M.
This paper presents a process for phenol removal comprising a reaction step in which phenol is polymerized in the presence of an enzyme horseradish peroxidase. A crude preparation from horseradish roots was used as a low purity source of the enzyme. The technical feasibility of the process was studied using 1 to 10 mM synthetic phenol solutions. Experimental results showed the potential of the proposed technique. A phenol conversion higher than 90% was observed at the polymerization process.

Lazic, T. (Regionalni centar za talente, Cacak (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Markovic, G. | Nikolic, D. | Cupic, S.
Heavy metals contamination of the muscular tussue of nase (Chondrostoma nasus), bream (Alburnus brama) and bleak (Alburnus alburnus) fish species from the Medjuvrsje water reservoir (the Zapadna Mora river), was examined. With the expection of the nase muscular tissue where cadmium (Cd) and mercury (Hg) concentrations above and slightly below MPC, respectively, were detected, the rest of the samples were safe. With the aim of conducting more thorough monitoring of these pollutants, a greater number of elements and a larger number of organisms should be included in the analyses.

2003
Djurovic, D. | Karajic, M. | Delevic, V. (Institut za zdravlje Crne Gore, Podgorica (Serbia and Montenegro))
Water quality examination of water source Zagoric, was conducted with aim to determine water quality on the bases of physico-chemical parameters, in dry and rainy period. Water supply system in Podgorica scopes several water supply sources out of which Mareza and Zagoric have the greatest capacity. The aim of this study was to determine hygienic quality of water in operational and dug wells on representative locations in flow areas, and on the basis of obtained results to estimate its influence on population health.

2003
Radenkovic, Z. (Institut za vodoprivredu "Jaroslav Cerni", Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Jevtic, G. | Josipovic, J. | Jevtic, O.
Nis Tobacco Factory, Serbia (Serbia&Montenegro) has water supply from two resources, public water supply system and from its dug well. In periods of water shortages and smaller deliveries from public water supply system (e.g. recession periods) it is necessary to provide additional water quantities for proper functioning of tobacco refinement. For that purpose capability for utilization of terrace deposits for water supply was analyzed.

2003
Perovic, S. (Kombinat aluminijuma, Podgorica (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Kolinovic, R. | Grzetic, I.
Processes like QMS (Quality management systems) and EMS (Environmental management systems) consist of series of procedures/elements, among which are operative or working procedures. One of these procedures is control of waste waters from the Aluminium Plant in Podgorica, Montenegro (Serbia&Montenegro). This procedure controls the order of activities, the responsibility, the input and output documents, with the exclusive aim to measure the effects of protection of surface and underground waters and to review the EMS of the company for the waste waters.

2003
Pusic, M. (Rudarsko-geoloski fakultet, Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Djuric, D. (Institut za vodoprivredu "Jaroslav Cerni", Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro))
According to Water Plan of the Republic of Serbia the area between Kovin and Dubovac was marked as a possible place for water source for regional water supply of towns and industry of South Backa Region (Serbia). Commencement of underwater coal exploitation was at the beginning of 1990's in the Danube riparian zone near Dubovacka Ada. Potential influence of long-term underwater coal exploitation from "Kovin" trial coal pit on Dubovacka Ada on quality and quantity of groundwater that will be extracted from regional water source is analysed in this article.

2003
Damjanovic, M. | Babic-Mladenovic, M. (Institut za vodoprivredu Jaroslav Cerni, Beograd (Serbia and Montenegro))
Regular monitoring of water quality of the Danube river in the backwater zone includes analysis of the sediment. It is well known that sediment is a sink place for the non degradable compounds and it reveales the long term water quality status in the reservoir. This paper presents the general results on the Iron Gate reservoir siltation. as well as some data regarding pollution level, based on investigations carried in the period of 2001-2002. The investigations included organic load of the sediment, heavy metals and organic pollutants content. The degree of pollution is evaluated on the basis of various criteria, also compared to results of previous case studies.

Comic, Lj. (Prirodno-matematicki fakultet, Kragujevac (Serbia and Montenegro)) | Curcic, S. | Ostojic, A. | Milosevic, S.
Comparative analysis of results obtained in hydrobiological research conducted to date indicates that relatively few water reservoirs in Serbia have been subjected to complex hydrobiological investigations. Apart from the fact that hydrobiological investigations are now performed on only a small number of water reservoirs in Serbia, they are moreover inadequately coordinated, which is especially evident in differences of procedural approaches employed. With adoption of the principles of modern limnology and wider use of new criteria for water classification (m WQI for instance), the current state of hydrobiological research constitutes a basic for the development of comprehensive program of planned continuous studies of water reservoirs in Serbia resulting in their rational and successful management.
