Hesperinus Walker, 1848, a member of Bibionidae (Diptera), is a Holarctic and Oriental genus. The genus has been reported from the Neotropical Region twice: i) Hesperinus conjungens Schiner, 1868, transferred to Plecia Wiedemann, 1828 by Hardy in 1967, and ii) additional specimens identified as Hesperinus sp. by Messias Carrera in 1944. In this study, we revisited the Carrera’s specimens, identifying them as Plecia sp. Additionally, we discussed the taxonomy of Plecia conjungens and compiled a list of articles that consider the species as Hesperinus.

Neoempheria Osten Sacken is a genus of Mycetophilidae that has a life cycle associated with fungi. The genus is diverse in the Neotropical region, with 41 species known from Brazil that are predominantly known in southern and southeastern areas. This study reports on the first record of this genus for Pará state and redescribes Neoempheria bilobata Edwards, which was previously decribed from a male holotype from southern Brazil. We furnished high-resolution images and illustrations, as well as a detailed redescription of this species, based on male and female specimens.

Utilizando armadilhas pitfall, registra-se pela primeira vez quatro operárias da formiga quenquém cisco-da-Amazônia Acromyrmex hystrix (Latreille) (Formicidae: Myrmicinae) em uma caverna no estado do Maranhão, região nordeste do Brasil. Entretanto, não se pode inferir nenhuma informação adicional sobre a freqüência dessa espécie na região, uma vez que, o registro foi acidental. A região onde os indivíduos foram encontrados se encontra na divisa do Maranhão com Tocantins e sugere-se que essa espécie também esteja distribuída nesse estado.First Record of the Quenquém cisco-da-Amazônia Acromyrmex hystrix (Latreille) (Formicidae: Myrmicinae) for Maranhão State, BrazilAbstract. It is recorded, for the first time, using pitfall traps, four workers of ant “quenquém-cisco-da-Amazônia”, Acromyrmex hystrix (Latreille) (Formicidae: Myrmicinae) in a cave at state of Maranhão, northeastern Brazil. However, we could not imply any additional information about the abundance of this species in the region once that this record was accidental. The region where the individuals were found is placed at border of state of Maranhão and state of Tocantins suggesting that this species also occurs in this state.

Registra-se pela primeira vez no Brasil o megaloptera Corydalus peruvianus ampliando a distribuição geográfica da espécie na América do Sul. Adicionalmente, são fornecidas informações sobre o ambiente e a qualidade da água do local onde a espécie foi coletada.

Abstract. The aim of this work is to present new records and distributional notes of Ephemeroptera species on Roraima states. Farrodes maculatus Domínguez, Molineri & Peters, 1996, Hermanellopsis incertans (Spieth, 1943) and Thraulodes marreroi Chacón, Segnini & Domínguez, 1999 are recorded for the first time in Brazil. Family Coryphoridae,  Callibaetis cruentus Cruz, Salles & Hamada, 2014, Callibaetis gelidus Cruz, Salles & Hamada, 2014, Campylocia demoulini Gonçalves & Salles, 2017, Coryphorus aquilus Peters, 1981, Fittkaulus cururuensis Savage, 1986, Fittkaulus maculatus Savage & Peters, 1978, Miroculis fittkaui Savage & Peters, 1983, and Simothraulopsis sabalo Kluge, 2007 are recorded for the first time in Roraima. O número de espécies de Ephemeroptera com registros de ocorrência em Roraima é elevado de 64 a 75.
