O cadastro de infraestruturas de abastecimento de água é fundamental para otimizar a distribuição deste recurso, a fim de evitar gastos desnecessários, quer económicos, quer do próprio recurso. Assim, o principal objetivo deste projecto passa por contribuir para a realização do cadastro da cidade da Horta e par de uma avaliação do impacto do crescimento turístico nas redes de distribuição de água. Neste sentido, procedeu-se a um levantamento de dados sobre o tipo de turismo que visita a ilha do Faial tendo como pressuposto que é prioritário o abastecimento da população residente. Para isso estudaram-se tendências para verificar o modo com a indústria turística evolui na ilha sem deixar de atender também à evolução da população local. O levantamento aqui realizado abrangeu também os gastos de água dos maiores consumidores na cidade da Horta, que se encontram relacionados diretamente com o turismo, nomeadamente os da área da restauração, alojamento local e hotelaria. Perante isto, foram identificados todos os locais de alojamento na ilha do Faial, assim como a sua capacidade (camas). Com os dados da ocupação turística do Faial, tendo em conta um histórico de sete anos, foi possível construir um modelo matemático que se baseia em parte no modelo do “World Tourism Trends and the Way Ahead (WYSETC)”, cujo máximo de crescimento turístico previsto é de 35%. Admitiu-se que esse crescimento corresponde ao pior impacto possível, em termos de consumos de água, que possa ser associado ao turismo no Faial. […]. | ABSTRACT: Tourism growth in the Azores has reached record levels in recent years. In this way, a good management of the natural resources existing on the islands, namely water quantity and quality, is essential. The register of water supply infrastructure allows the best management of the resource in order to avoid unnecessary expenses, both economic and the resource itself. Thus, the main objective of this project was to study water distribution networks in Horta and the impact of tourism growth on water distribution networks and demand. In this sense, a meticulous survey of the type of tourism that visits and lodges the island, as well as the population characterization of the island of Faial, and its trends, demonstrating in this way, the evolution of the fluctuation of population in the island of Faial Island. This survey covered the consumption of the largest consumers in the city of Horta related to tourism, namely in the area of catering, local accommodation and hospitality. In view of this, all places of accommodation in Faial Island were identified, as well as their capacity. The data on touristic demand of Faial Island with (data from seven years) made possible to apply a mathematical model based on the World Tourism Trends and the Way Ahead (WYSETC), which presents a tourist growth of 35%, in phase to the year of greatest registration on the island. It is not only necessary to have the resource available in quantity but also with quality. In this way, an analysis of the chemical and microbiological quality of the water that supplies the city of Horta, where made on captions in Horta. In order to register the infrastructure of the water supply system, it was necessary to carry out it on CAD support, and in this way it was possible to identify the types of pipes, their diameters, location and all the components that make up the supply network, namely reservoirs, sectioning valves, pressure relief valves, blind gaskets, bottom discharges, pressure drop chambers and lift stations.

La intención de este trabajo es presentar alternativas de abastecimiento de agua potable para el municipio de Lloró, Chocó, con el fin de brindar una mejor calidad de vida, salubridad y bienestar para la población; ya que el servicio de agua es fundamental para el desarrollo social y económico, lograr recibir este recurso con las características aptas para consumir es un privilegio que hoy en día no solo las grandes ciudades sino también las comunidades rurales deberían obtener de una manera sana sin originar problemas económicos y ambientales | The intention of this work is to present drinking water supply alternatives for the municipality of Lloró, Chocó, in order to provide a better quality of life, health and well-being for the population; Since the water service is fundamental for social and economic development, being able to receive this resource with the characteristics suitable for consumption is a privilege that nowadays not only large cities but also rural communities should obtain in a healthy way without originating economic and environmental problems
