Cyfluthrin provided the best protection of leaves from the damage of chewing insects. Although the other insecticides significantly reduced insect damage, they were inferior to methyomyl. Insecticide-treated plants gave higher quality index and crop value except in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur, where crop value was not significantly among treatments.
