The calves born during the wet season (Oct - Feb) were 0.8 kg heavier than those born during the dry season (Mar - Sep). The overall mean +- SE of the body weights at 2, 4, 6, 12 and 18 months were 32.5 +- 0.4, 45.8 +- 0.6, 58.0 +- 0.8, 81.0 +- 2.5 and 100.6 +- 3.0 kg, respectively. Breed of sire significantly affected the weights at 4 and 6 month0763s (p0.05), but not at the other ages under consideration.
