The author describes fungi occurring in corn-fields, in corn products and in animal feed and discusses the toxins produced by those fungi. Ochratoxin A is the main mycotoxin occurring under Polish weather conditions. Its occurrence in pigs (kidneys, blood) and in humans (blood) is stated. The healthy, social and economic importance of the occurrence of this mycotoxin in animal feed and human food is underlined
