An experiment on growing minks fed a diet containing 20-50 percent of formalin or formic acid preserved meat feeds as well as 33 percent of sodium benzoate or sulphuric acid preserved blood was carried out. The diet containing 3 percent of oil byproducts was used. The lowest weight gain in mink given oil byproducts was stated. The chemical preservatives caused a decrease of total protein content as well as urea content in blood plasma of minks. No effect of tested diets on aminotransferase activity in mink blood plasma was observed
