In Estonia, the first scientific records about powdery mildews on foreign trees and shurbs date back to a distant past. As early as in 1856, A.H. Dietrich wrote that a powdery mildew fungus - Microsphaera lonicerae (DC.) Wint. (sub Calcladia ehrenbergii lev.) - was common on the leaves of Tartar honeysucles (Lonicera tatarica L.) growing in Estonia. To date, a large number of studies have been published on powdery mildew fungi inhabiting the introduced trees and shrubs in Estonia. In this paper, the author's pursuit was to sum up the research published to date
