These results indicate that the RA-induced activation of PKC-δ effects on the down-regulation of IRS-1 via ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, which is related IGF-I system result in the cell viability. The underlying mechanism could be regulated by the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway through PKC-δ activation. The present findings further indicate that the regulation of RA-induced IGF-I system might be a novel preventive strategy against breast cancer.
