In order to use peat in the production of nursery substrates in vegetable production, testing, chemical and microbiological properties was carried out on samples from four locations in Serbia: Ramski Rit (V. Gradiste), Vedrine (Negotin), Gajsko-Dubavacke (Kovin) and Pesterske. The results indicate the existence of mutual differences in quantity and quality sense, but manifested differences do not affect adversely the their use.
