Sin embargo, es posible eliminar el agua por métodos sencillos de secado, muy conocidos, y también no solamente reducirlas a harina, sino también conservarlas en forma de ensilado. En cuanto a su contenido mineral, está por ver hasta qué punto es beneficioso, y por lo tanto hasta dónde no es necesario añadir, algunos elementos minerales que se suelen incluir comúnmente en las fórmulas alimentarias.
