Regularities of the changes in the moisture content of seeds, stems and leaves in lentils as well as in weeds were investigated experimentally in the process of ripening until harvest. The pre-harvest seed loss (seed shedding from pods) was found to depend on time in the process of ripening. The qualitative characteristics of seeds (1000-seed weight, germination energy, germination), which are very important for the seed material, are much better if the moisture content of seeds is decreasing.
