إنجليزي. Garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata, Brasicaceae) is an edible plant that is used asculinary herb and in traditional medicine and it has not been tested so far. In thispaper, the antimicrobial potential and the in vitro protective effects on DNAdamage induced by hydroxyl and peroxyl radicals of above-ground part (APA) androot (APR) methanolic extracts of garlic mustard were examined, for the first time.The obtained results indicate that APA and APR extracts exhibited moderateantimicrobial activity and significant DNA-protective potential on free radicalinduced oxidative damage, which encourages further research and their potentialuse for nutritional and
