إنجليزي. Tests have been performed to transmit a grapevine yellows agent to Catharanthus roseus. One end of a small tendril of a diseased grapevine is inserted into a plastic tube. The other end is inserted, as if for side grafting, in the stalk of the Catharanthus. The tube is then filled with water and kept in a vertical position. The resulting hydrostatic pressure forces the lymph out of the grapevine tendril into the recipient C. roseus. Based on the symptom observations, most of the plants have thus been infected. This method proves very advantageous as it seems efficient, applicable among plants of very different genera, and the infections can be performed with infecting material coming from far away.
