إنجليزي. Band patterns of 21 commercially important species of fish, belonging to the order of Pleuronectiformes, have been obtained by isoelectric focusing of sarcoplasmic proteins. Each band pattern is characteristic of one species and is clearly recognisable by visual inspection of stained gel. Therefore, the method can be used for identification of fish species, also when they are treated as fillets
